LIVERPOOL and Tottenham have distanced themselves from Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, paving the way for Manchester United to complete a deal.
Fernandes scored 31 goals from midfield last season, skippering Sporting to two domestic cups.
The Portugal international, who helped Portugal to the Nations League trophy in early June, has four years left on his contract, and is worth £62.2m
They were part of a packed field chasing the 24-year-old but now appear to be in pole position because Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool have ostensibly distanced themselves from a move.
United have other targets in midfield such as the more Newcastle defensive midfielder Sean Longstaff, who would cost around £25m.
If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set on signing Fernandes he may have to fund the deal through player sales, which could come in the form of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.
Liverpool fans has urged Jurgen Klopp to sign Bruno Fernandes thiteammer after watching him excel in the Portuguese league making 18 assists in just 45 appearances and now fans believe he posses the quality to add something new to Liverpool’s game.
Next season, Liverpool will aim to win not just the Premier League and back to back Champions League but to compete with Manchester City on all fronts.
Just like Manchester City who lifted the FA Cup and Caraboa Cup, Liverpool will have to go one side further by challenging in all fronts and to do that, they have to bring in good players who can add quality to the team.
Bruno Fernandes is good enough to play for Liverpool and now the fans are calling on Jurgen Klopp to sign him.
