MY DAD WANTED ME TO HAVE A BETTER JOB OTHER THAN DOING GOSPEL MUSIC
Multiple award winning Ghanaian gospel singer, Diana Antwi Hamilton has disclosed in an interview with Andy Dosty of Hitz FM on Daybreak hitz that her dad wanted her to have a career other than depending on her talent.
The UK based Ghanaian artist revealed that before she gained admission to the Senior High School, her dad was advised by her headmaster to take her to a music school.
but as a dad who had a vision for her daughter and wanted her to get a better job ignored the advice given him by the headmaster.
Diana also made the revelation that she had never gone to a music school but its the Grace of God which has brought Her this far.
She told Andy Dosty “I have never been to a music school, when I was about leaving for SHS, my headmaster told my dad to send me to a music school but he disagreed.
He wanted me to work and didn’t want me to make a living out of singing. I am a nurse in the UK but music is my work now”.
The ‘eye woa’ singer has a strong desire to bring people to have a deeper relationship with God through her music.
Most of Diana’s songs are inspirational which encourages a lot of people.
Diana’s hardwork won her several awards including Best female and gospel act at the Ghana music awards Europe in 2012 and Best female artist at the Africa gospel awards 2014.
She’s also part of the gospel singers billed to thrill patrons at the 2018 edition of Ghana’s gospel event, Adom praize which is coming off today 31st August 2018.
Other spirit filled musicians that will be present are Elder Mireku, Eben, Willie and Mike, Kwaku Gyasi, Max praise and others.
