Tuba dagomba, a young upcoming Ghanaian musician based in the northern part of Ghana, with real name BASIT ZAKARIA, was born in the 80’s in the northern part of Ghana, tamale to be precise. Tuba, had his elementary and primary school in Bagabaga primary school in 1989,and his junior secondary school in Riddge junior secondary school in 1995-1998, he made his way to the northern school of business(Nobisco).
In 1998, the musician studied business accounting where he completed in the year 2002.
Tuba Zak then released his first debut album “ATEMUDA”featuring Bat man Samini,Nana king and many others in Ghana-tamale,wa,brong ahafo region, that same year, the dagbon conflict started,so patronage became poor.
The musician who knew painting by then, started painting of pictures as his new working avenue and also became a mechandise where he begun selling in tamale and Accra for a year.
Tuba, returned into the music industry with the group Tuba clan made with tuba boster and tap tax him self and his junior brother, where released an album title “BONDITO” in dagbane language which means ‘Hard to get money’. In the year 2003, the album sold over 25,000 copies of tapes and cd’s in Ghana.
In the year 2005, the same Tuba clan came back with their second album titled “DAKOLI”,meaning ‘bachelor’,on their own record label, which sold over 20,000 thousand tapes and cd’s in Ghana. A year after, in 2006, they came out with a video cd compilation of both tuba zaks and tuba clan music, this compilation sold over 35,000 copies of vcd’s in Ghana.
That same year, tuba records produced tap tax debut album in title ‘Yehiyeli’ which also sold over 10,000 copies of tapes and cd’s.
Tuba zaks decided to go solo after a year, where he started recording his singles,his first single hit single song was “IT SHALL BE WELL”,which featured Black rasta nd mugees of R2bees fame,the song had lots of air play and tv promotion in 2007 to 2008,
The musician then released another hit single title “DON’T TRUST WOMEN” ,featuring mugees of R2bees and D-flexx which had another massive air play in the three northern parts in 2008.That same year, The last two music group signed Tuba zaks as their next artiste after Ayigbe edem’s volter regime.
In 2011 march, Tuba zaks took a trip to london and performed in the concert dub, Ghana 54th Independence, which was organized by the group, Akwaaba UK jam promotions.
In an interview with yooyooafrica.com, the musician stated ” For now I am in negotiations with black avenue records for a record deal,but my contract with the last two music group isn’t due yet”.
Tuba zaks who is currently about to premiere his song ‘Tabaaya’ video, featuring the legendary Zeal of Vvip fame at the Django bar on the 19th of May 2016, urge his fans to keep supporting his music.
